La Beta-alanine it's a non-essential amino acid which is used by muscle cells for synthesize carnosine. Carnosine is a dipeptide (beta-alanine plus histidine) that acts as a buffer for the hydrogen (acid) ions produced during strenuous exercise, thereby helping to maintain optimal muscle pH.
